Hey does anyone have a list of (mainly looking for audio drama) podcasts that actually have transcripts available for most or all of their episodes? It would make it way easier for me to listen if I can read along bc disability stuff.

tumblr user strictlyquadrilateral has compiled an amazing list of audio drama podcasts with transcripts, including links – here it is!

Q: Can you bless us with a post of how tiny Alex is? Anyway love love love your blog <3

Polyglot Diary Ideas

I recently saw a post (sorry I don’t have your @) about what a good idea it is to keep a diary in your target language. It will help you realize what words you don’t know, you need, and want to learn! Plus it’s great practice!

So I thought I’d drop some ideas/prompts for you to try once a day, or at your own pace.

Keys

  • Underline words you use often, so you can later look up synonyms!
  • Write words you aren’t sure you’re using correctly in a different color.
  • Put a * next to words you’re having trouble memorizing, and put definitions of that word at the bottom of the page.

Prompts

  1. Introduce yourself!
  2. Introduce your family.
  3. How many siblings do you have?
  4. What are they like?
(Try to use at least three adjectives!)
  5. What do you like to do?
  6. What are your favorite foods?
  7. When you go to a restaurant, what do you like to order?
  8. What year are you in school?
  9. What subjects did you take in school?
  10. What is your favorite season?
  11. Why is it your favorite?
  12. What don’t you like?
  13. Say something about one of your friends!
(Try to use at least three adjectives!)
  14. Name a memory with your friend.
  15. What’s your favorite color/animal?
  16. Introduce your pets!
  17. What are they like?
  18. Name a memory with your family!
  19. What is your favorite thing to wear?
  20. What is your favorite type of weather?
  21. What is your favorite holiday?
  22. What do you look like?
  23. Where do you work?
  24. What do you do there?
  25. What did you have for dinner last night? Who was there?
  26. What is your favorite book/show/movie?
  27. What’s it about?
  28. Recite a poem or quote in your target language!
  29. What is your house like?
(Ex: My house is small. / I have a brown couch.)
  30. How are you feeling?
  31. What was the last thing you read/watched?
  32.  How was it?
  33. What was the last thing you read/watched in your target language?
  34. Do you have any hobbies?
    (Ex: sports, knitting)
  35. Who did you last see?
  36. What did you guys do?
  37. Where is the last place you went?
  38. How was your day?
  39. Who is your favorite celebrity?
  40. Describe something you saw today.
  41. What did you do yesterday/last week?
  42. What do you hope to do in the future?
(Ex: “There’s a concert next week..”)

This is all I can come up with for now, but remember! You do it how you want to do it! It doesn’t have to be artsy, it doesn’t have to be long, or detailed, your handwriting doesn’t have to be pretty.
My first page of a language diary was -
“Hello, my name is ___, I am __ years old. My moms’ name is ___, I have __ brothers/sisters. Their names are ___.”
It’s not supposed to sound sophisticated, it’s supposed to help you learn as you grow.
 Happy Learning!
